Driving the new one...

So, I got a new chair a few weeks ago and we are still in the process of getting just right for me. Anyway, this past weekend I got to go to Prattville, AL. to visit a buddy hometown and his awesome family. The highlight of the trip besides seeing the sights and sounds was his 3 and a half year old son climbing in my lap and driving my wheelchair on his own in the street. This kid is fearless and he's the coolest little guy that I've meant in sometime. I'm so blessed to have this family and the aide that went with me in my life.

To my unbelievable staff and support team, THANK YOU!! Words can't even begin my gratitude for each and everyone of you. Much love and appreciation.

Happy holidays to everyone!

Please check out www.kylepease.org - there will be a video from the bowling event posted shortly! I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe Thanksgiving. I am thankful for each of you that have supported me throughout my life. It means the world to me! All my best -

Bowling with K Peasey

excuse me for not posting in quite a while... it's been a bit busy in the land of K Peasey! we just had our first event, Bowling with K Peasey, which took place sunday, oct 18 at fun time bowling in atlanta. it was quite a fun night! after a lot of hard work and planning, it definitely more than paid off. the proceeds from the event went to Reaching for the Stars, a foundation that supports cerebral palsy research. we raised over $2,100 for Reaching for the Stars! for my first event, i am very proud of myself. we have learned from a few mistakes and will improve in these areas. t-shirts and K Peasey bracelets were passed out at the event also, and we had over 75 people come out to bowl! i would like to thank the entire K Peasey staff for their efforts in making this a success.

it is football season now, so i am glued to the falcons. so far, so good.

please check out www.kylepease.org soon for event photos and video!

What a day...

wow what a day. I rode a CCT (cobb community transit) downtown. so luck at what happend

The lift was stuck and wouldn't go down... so I couldn't get off. They were trying to get it to work but no luck. The driver was pretty rude through the whole process - worried more about liability than my safety. Amy got there and she transferred me to a seat on the bus and drove the chair out onto the ramp, got a couple big dudes to lift it and take it down from the ramp (that was about 5 feet in the air), they allllmost dropped it - gave Amy a heart attack, and then Amy carried me off the bus and put me in my chair. The bus driver was like I said rude through the whole thing. He turned the camera off on the bus in case anything happened and kept saying "you're taking full responsibility, right?" But I'm fine now. Some of the guys that were on the bus with me stayed and waited for me to get off the bus and were some of the ones that helped get the chair down, so that was nice of them.

Game Time

Well, what a weekend. The Falcons have started and they are off to a brilliant start! Mattie Ice, my boy, had a stellar game! So let's go Blues, Bring on Carolina!

And other news, I am pleased to announce that I am having a fundraiser event in the upcoming weeks to benefit Reaching for the Stars. They are an amazing foundation and they are very near and dear to my heart. I hope everyone has a great week and I will be back soon to let you know what's good in the neighborhood.

Happenings

A lot is going on in the world of K Peasey. I am currently working on a lot of projects, always seeking new opportunities to grow as an individual. The team of K Peasey has worked extremely hard to put a Bowling Fundraiser together, more details to come later. I am trying to make a conscious effort to blog more to let you know what is going on with me in the community. Career Sports, Publix, and the website are going well. If you haven't looked at my website yet, I encourage each and everyone of you to do so (www.kylepease.org). My staff, which I manage to take care of me, is my 4th job. It has been incredible to know that I can rely on these six people to take care of me through the good times and the bad. Thank you. In my support staff, which includes my parents, my friends, and other supporters have been there every step and "wheel" of the way. So as I conclude this blog, I ask each and everyone of you to look inside your heart and take a minute to look at the person next to you and tell them how much you love them. Until next time, take care of yourself and each other.

What's the point?

First of all, I would like to welcome myself back to the blog. Welcome. Let me update everyone about some K Peasey happenings. October 18th bowling with K Peasey. Please check your in-boxes as we are out reminders. What's The Point? I ask you this question, as I am asking myself this question. What's your purpose? Because frankly I'm still trying to figure this one out. Everybody has a purpose. Some just take time. Please continue to go to KylePease.org , and tell all your friends about it too.

I am pleased to anounce that I will be getting a new wheelchair. It will be making it's debut January 2010. However I am getting fit for it on Monday. I hope everyone has a great day.

Apple Store

Kate and I went into the Apple store in Lenox because I needed to get a new iPod. As I wheeled in, a large figure to the left caught my eye. I looked over and, lo and behold, I recognized this figure to be a player in the NBA. I wheeled over and said "what up"! After talking to him for a moment regarding their chances at heading to the finals, Kate and I went over to the iPod section and picked out my new Nano. Kate approached the sales associate and said we'd like to purchase an orange Nano. He told us to hold on while he grabbed one for us. A few minutes later, he walked up and said, "That gentleman over there would like to purchase your iPod for you" and he pointed at the NBA player! I wheeled on over and assured him that it was not necessary, but he insisted. I was floored beyond belief. Being the huge sports fan that I am, anyone who knows me can imagine my extreme elation. It was so refreshing to know that there are kind and generous athletes out there who aren't completely preoccupied with buying fancy cars and bling. He really touched my life in a huge way and I will never forget that.

Peasey peace!

p.s. Have fun in China, Amy!

Athfest 2009

The temperature is rising outside, which must be the reason behind my heat wave of adventure. This Saturday I headed to Athens, GA for "Athfest". Basically- it is a weekend chock full of music, culture, food, drinks, and friends. For me, it was specifically about friends. I hit the road with Super Sam to meet up with my long time buddy Wild Wade (he just started grad school at UGA!) and my girl ABash. From there I saw many familiar faces and jammed out to a local band The Quiet Hooves. I suppose there is a reason they call it the Classic City.
Keep your eyes and ears open for many big things to come. And by big, I mean huge. KPeasey, OUT!

Dela WHERE it's at!

Delaware was a dream come true. It was truly an out of body experience. Please take a look at the album on Facebook... quite fascinating. There are no words to describe how the waves felt and the ocean air smelled. A rare treat that I will always remember.
In other exciting news, Team KPeasey is about to take the entire world by storm. We are currently working on the following endeavors:
-Today Show contest: "Everyone Has A Story" essay contest
-A 5k walk benefiting kylepease.org (Walking for (5)Kpeasey)
-House hunting and moving on up in the world.
-Love is in the air... bachelor KP is single and ready to mingle!

I would like to give a special holla holla to some wonderful individuals who made Delaware a dream come true. Thank you to my wonderful hosts Abbey and Pauly P, and how could you forget the KPeasey team of Super Sam and Angel Amy. (And of course Kind Kate and Lovely Laura who were on the trip in spirit). Guess what? I am embarking on another road trip this weekend: going to the other A-town: Athens. A little "bromance" with Sam, bashing with ABash, and enjoying the tunes of my favorite college town.
Just listen to the music and chill. KPeasey, OUT!

Good Stuff

I have done several speeches in the past few weeks and I have received great reviews from all of them. One in particular stands out from the the rest. It was last Saturday when I went to speak to my brother's triathlon team. They are an amazing group of young men and women who have challenges in their lives just like I do. On dude in particular stood out from the rest. My main man Calvin is an 11 year old who has an incredible spirit and is an outstanding athlete. Go get 'em next week in Florida and "Yes You Can!!!" In other news, I have a sister now. No, not a blood sister, but a sister at heart. Her name will not be released but she means the world to me and I love her like a sister. I'm about to go to a graduation of one of my workers sisters. That should be fun.

Enjoy your weekend.

Thank You, Thank You, Thank You

Thank you, it has been a fantastic week since my website opened. I sincerely appreciate all the support and the encouraging words. A big thank you goes out to Roger B. for getting the website up and running. Great job bud. Your money is coming really soon. See blue, wear blue. The K-Peasey bracelets are a big hit. The reason for the bracelets are A) for the website, and B) To walk for me with pride. When you look at the bracelet, let it help to remind you to take every step with a purpose. There will be another order going out of the Waking for K-Peasey bracelets although they will be updated with the website. The cost is $2.00 per band to help me and Roger regain some of the costs. I'm going to Athens tonight and then game seven for the hawks. Enjoy your weekend cuz I know I will mine.

Friends and Family,

I am pleased to announce the launch of my new website, kylepease.org! I have been working for months alongside my friend Roger Baldowski, and we are both excited about the new site and how it will help me advance my career in motivtional speaking. I did my best to incorporate my true self in this site, to give the public a better sense of who I am and the story i have to tell.

Please pass this link forward to your friends and family to help spread the word. I am very appreciative for all the hard work and late hours put in by everyone involved, I think it really came out great! Though this is the initial launch of the site, stay tuned for media updates including video, shopping, and other other interactive features.

Thank you for your continual support.....and GET UP!!

Turning the Corner

For those of you that have been with me for the past couple months know that I have been pretty worried about a lot of things. It's time to really dedicate myself to turning the corner. I can talk the talk, but I need to wheel the wheel. I need to focus on living in the moment and not living in the past, taking everything in stride. This is not going to take a day or two; it may take months. And when I get stressed I need to just breathe. It's funny that I'm saying this right now because it doesn't always happen like this. So, I will continue to work on this and keep you posted.

In other news, I am please to announce that in a few weeks KylePease.org will be launching!

Three Wishes

As some of my fellow bloggers have done, they have blogged about their three wishes, so here goes mine.
1)Obviously you know what my first wish is. That would be the ability to put one foot in front of the other without assistance. I don't necessarily believe that this is a wish anymore because of advancements in modern technology hopefully will someday allow me to achieve this goal.
2)To find the pursuit of peace and happiness for every man, woman, and child. This takes some willingness on peoples part to accept people for who they are.
3)And last but not least, for me not to stress. This is not a wish, this needs to become the truth and I am working my hardest at making that happen as we speak.
4)Sam says that this is not allowed, but this is MY blog, so I'm not even gonna ask for another because three really is enough. But what Sam doesn't know is that he's goin' down on Tuesday in the first ever K-Peasey Olympics!

Stir Crazy and a New Bookbag

So I'm sitting here with Evan's girlfriend, and no don't get any crazy ideas in your head. Get your brain out of the gutter, people. My wheelchair is on the fritz, because of all the bad weather that has come through Atlanta over the weekend. So I'm pretty much talking to the four walls right now. But they're not talking back. So hopefully it will be fixed very soon, so I can get my wheel on again. With that being said, I can not go to work today. So I'm organizing my new book bag, that was a gift from Dylan. Because my mom went over and cleaned up last week. So in other words, this book bag means that Dylan will be with me at all times now. So it has a special bound with me, already. Until next time, rest in peace Dylan.

So, I don't know really what to tell you on this blog so I just came up with something. The other day I went to dinner and one of my customers from publix was very kind and paid for my entire party. This goes to show me that there are good people out in the world despite the recent trends of our nation. Spring break is this week. What are your favorite memories of your spring break. Please keep in mind that this is a blog, so keep it clean. Peace

Teddy

So, my good fellow Sam brought to my attention last night--who told me secretly to avoid embarrassment--that one of my quotes on facebook was misquoted. This quote has been on there for quite a while. Let me first apologize to Mr. Roosevelt for giving the credit for his "Speak softly but carry a big stick" quote to the other Mr. Roosevelt FDR and I really hate when my workers are right and I'm wrong (just kidding!). Tomorrow come out and see my brother perform with his jammin' band at the Sweetwater Brewery around 5:30! As porky pig said "That's all folks".

P.S. Today I literally got up with the help of a good buddy!

Peasey vs. Lebron

Tomorrow I'm going back to my home away from home: Philips Arena. I think that it would be a close race. Who's better, me or Lebron? He might have the shot, but I got the wheels. So it should be a good time. I have really wanted to see Lebron play for the longest time and now I finally have my chance. Big ups mothertrucker.

good stuff

It has been quite sometime since I last blog. At lot has been going on. I have invited back by work, on a month by month contract...which is great news. The birthday was a blast. A lot of good times, with family and friends. The website is coming along slowly but surely. Check it out at www.kylepease.org. Right now we just have the photo gallery up. But it's going to look good when it's all up and running. Looking at going scuba diving. My first class is next Wednesday night. I think that this might be a good outlet for me to get rid of some of my energy. The apartment searching has sort of hit a stall, but I'm still actively looking and hoping to move out really soon. Went to the hockey game with Sam, the other night. It was good, but we got bored and left. But I'm looking forward to seeing LeBron James with Sam and whoever else wants to go! Should be fun! That's really all I've got for this blog. I will try to keep up, and blog more. Please understand that the past couple weeks have been a rollercoaster. Ok, good people! Take care!

Everyting Happens For A Reason

After some disappointing news yesterday, followed by me going on a tirade, I am still a very down. But I know that everything happens for a reason. I don't know why this happened but I know that I have nothing but the highest respect for my fellow co-workers and the clients that I have worked with. I know without a doubt that their business will continue to flourish and if an opportunity presents itself, I would love to go back there. I want to thank everybody for their unconditional love and support through this hard time and to let all of you know that it is recognized. I may not show it, but I want you to know that I cannot do this without you guys in my life. But now I must go on. As many of you know, I have been doing pretty well over the past couple of weeks and I need to keep my momentum strong. So today I had a photo shoot for my new website that went very well and have already started searching for some new endeavor to pursue. I will continue to prove all the nay-Sayers wrong and will succeed in finding a new job. Well I hope everybody has a good night and doesn't feel sorry for me because I am going to make it. Happy Valentine's day everybody or in other words, "Single Awareness Day." Haha. Fill in the blank at the end of this blog. G..E...T..__________!!!!!Now a message from gangsta: "HOLLAAAA at ya boi!!!!!" Thursday is a national K Peazey holiday! The big 24th birthday. Happy birthday big bro wear the shirt if ya got one.

This past Saturday, I attended a formal. It was a blast! Sam and myself were Amy's dates. People definitely saw that I could bust a move out there, and Sam, he's not too bad himself. It was all the fun it could have been and I would like to thank Amy for inviting both of us. By the way, the eclairs were AMAZING!! So tomorrow is going to be another K Peazey adventure. I'm finally going to get my sticker for the van so I can finally park legally. Ya know, that little blue man sticker? And the hawks game is gonna be awesome! Until next time, GET UP!!!!

A scarf and home alone

So today it was freezing in Atlanta. I was decked out in Career Sports clothes, and on top of that I had to take the bus to Publix. Dr. Johnson gave me this scarf a year ago; he told me what it means, but I don't remember. It's a scarf from Germany that he picked up at a soccer game. Thank you, man! Whatever it says, it kept me warm today.

I've got the house to myself this weekend! GET UP! Well, not really. I'll have my aids here... but still! This is a taste of what it will be like when I move out. Get up, son!

Update

All in all January has been a pretty solid month for me. Two fantastic jobs, a couple of new nice fellas giving me a hand. (Staff members) I really have been to trying to keep myself upbeat and positive about things that are going on around me. There have been bumps along the way. I have to use a phrase from coach Smith of the Atlanta Falcons. "Its a process" and yes just like the Falcons, I find myself in a process. Getting comfortable with who I am and being OK with my disability. Oh yeah living with my parents again. This process is ongoing and sometimes can be a battle at times. I have to remember that I am a good guy and I need to be proud of that.

Oh yea, I'm tring my best to drink more water and fluids. so, if you see me ask me how much water I drank for the day.

Hugs and Hands pounds.

I'm making this my official slogan - Get Up!!! I'm going to check it out to see if it's already reserved or on copyright, and if it's not I'm going to scoop it up. This saying has a lot of meaning to me, and I have to remain positive throughout the day and tackle my obstacles head on.

Thoughts

Who reads this blog? I feel at times I do this for my own benefit, which is fine by me. Anyways, I have a lot to say tonight so sorry if it rambles on. First of all, there's a unique opportunity for me to meet the man himself, Mr. Ted Turner. GET UP FOR TED TURNER!!!!!!!!!!! The catch is I have to get dressed up, but I'm down like a clown. I'm gonna two-step to a piano. Work is awesome at both locations, a little tiring but it is well worth it. I have developed a slogan for my website and my life so check it out ASAP! It's a common phrase used throughout this blog, if only you could see my face right now, GET.........GET........GET UPPPPP!!!! I got a lot of people doing it at the office. This past weekend, I attended the Hawks game, saw a good buddy of mine, and that was good, but they lost. Who knows what's going to take place with this blog, I'm really considering turning it into a book one day. But we'll see what happens. The Man, The Myth, The Legend, in my own mind, no that's not the name of the title. Until next time, take care of yourself and eachother.
Thanks Jerry Springer

Wow

So it was a quite little Sunday. I had to run a couple errands. Got a cup of coffee, ate a nice quite lunch with my worker. As we were walking out of the restaurant a old lady came up to my worker and said something like this; You are so nice to help this lady out. And then looked at Kyle and realized he was a guy. Then said said couple we were. With all due respect to this lady, the last time I checked I was a male this morning.

I do NOT understand why every time I go out in public people want to talk to me. I do NOT want to talk to them. I just want to mind my business and you mind yours. So, that's what went down today. Who knows what tomorrow will hold. Just live for today.

Double duty

Tomorrow God willing I'm pulling a double shift. Working at CS&E in the morning and from there going straight to Publix. This is what I'm made of. OK, well not really but I love pulling a double shift. I have about an hour forty-five minutes to change my clothes and get on my way. Since, I have started this double duty thing I not been late to Publix which I'm very proud of myself.

I need to start building myself up instead of knocking myself. I'm great dude who has overcome so many challenges but you I can anything I put my mind to and so can you. So, GET UP!!

Finally

The country finally embarked on a new Commander in Chief, and although I don't agree with entire platform, I do wish him the best of luck and hope that he can turn this country around.

After a couple of bad days, I have decided to recommit myself to helping myself instead of being my own enemy. I am going to try not to put myself down anymore and let compliments affect me in a positive way.

Shout out to my boy, Ben, who had just returned from the inauguration. Peace out to all my folk out there!

For Real?

Congratulations to the Arizona Cardinals, but for real, they were the team entering the playoffs with the worst record of all the other teams in the post-season, but hey, anything can happen. On this day, we honor one of the greatest men that ever lived. The Doctor himself, Dr. Martin Luther King II. What an incredible man that preached equality and peace towards the hopes of a better world and humanity. If we could only try to emulate what Dr. King's message was all about. So on this day, take a minute to realize Dr. King's dream and put some of your dreams in order.

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I highly recommend a couple of movies: Notorious, Slumdog Millionaire, and Marley and Me. All of these were incredible movies and I highly suggest that you go see them all. Big Ups

Sam

So it's Monday evening, 7:09pm, felt pretty productive and could have done more at work today. I have an eleven page database that I'm working on. There's a new guy on the blog. I call him Psycho Sam(although he's not actually crazy). He has come in to this setting and really gave me a spark of energy that was highly needed at this point in my life. I'm not saying that the rest of my helpers do not do this for me, but every worker brings something unique to the table, and what Sam brings, Amy or Ryan can't bring, and vice versa. Sam has brought a realistic and confident mood. Not only is Sam a great worker(he's still proving himself), but he's a friend as well, and he knew the job was dangerous when he took it. I'm out. I'll see you in the funny papers. Oh yeah, lift up the seat when you use the bathroom.

GET UP!!!

GET UP!! What's the good word peeps? A lot to fill in, a lot to fill in. I have been working very diligently in the past month to get myself to where I need to be. I have now secured two jobs, one with publix, and one with another company, so my days are pretty busy. I'm in the process of looking for a place to live, but that won't happen until April or May.

I am pleased to tell everybody about my new website coming out in March, and hopefully that will lead to more opportunities. This blog is going in a new direction for 2009. There will be more pictures of activities, staff members(if the choose to be up there) because I want to focus more on helping people and speaking to people.

My staff is coming together pretty nicely except for a few hiccups in the beginning. I think we are on the same page now and have a mutual understanding of each other. I have learned so much about myself the past month, I won't bore you with stories, but for those of you who know me, you know what happened on marta. So I'm in a good place, I just have to keep grinding away GET UP!!!
